Once I was requested to give training to a person working in production.
I was told that " Madam, we have tried all ways to make him stop doing errors. But nothing is working."
I asked them what you have tried?
They told us that we are just fed up with the mistakes he is doing. We have given multiple pieces of training.
Still no result.
We have scolded him but no change.
We have kept him only night shift for many months but still, he is not improving.
Keep on doing mistakes in documentation.
Now it's the last try that you pls give him training on "Good Documentation Practices".
I thought that what I will teach him.
Everyone knows that if any typo error is there then one has to cut, sign with the date, and correct the mistake.
I told them ok. Send him. I will give him training.
The person has come, I discussed a few things about him and not any guidance. I did counseling that person.
Days passed. I also forgot about this.
About 1.5 months I called the supervisor that person and asked him " Whether any improvement is there?"
He updated me. Yes, your training worked. He does not do any mistakes. Not only this but he is reviewing others' work also.
I was so happy!!!
Took a deep breath.........................
The moral of the story is that many times root cause of the problem is different than what we think.
Till we do not find that we do not get success. Those we don't find in the guidelines.
You know there are many factors. Those factors made me write my book " Blue Ocean of Compliance".
In this, I have tried to present many of them.
While you read it underline the ones which are applicable in your area and try to implement the learnings from the book.
I would appreciate it if you will write me that how the learnings helped you to solve the problems. So that in my next edition I can add
more wisdom for our Pharma community and help them.
